The Thursday Three: December 6th

The basis of many a kdrama tends to be romance and, though there are quite a few romantic partners I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, let alone the hero/heroine I’m supposed to be rooting for, there are even more I absolutely love (and would, y’know, love to meet irl).

So, this week’s question is: in your opinion, who are the three most ideal romantic partners in kdramaland?

Leave your comments below and, if you’d like to contact me, I’m on Twitter and on email.

(PS. Yes, it is still Thursday. Somewhere in the… uh, universe. *shifty*)

  1. OK, I just had to pop in to leave a quick comment. (Why do I always want to procrastinate when I have so much grading left? LOL)

I love your sense of humor, Jules! Your *shifty* gave me such a fun chuckle this morning. *chuckle chuckle chuckle*

I suppose I should answer your question since I’m already leaving a comment, huh?

My top three “ideal” partners? (in no particular order) I chose these three because the men and women seem to bring out the best in each other.
    1. Capital Scandal’s Woo Wan and Yeo Kyung
    2. King 2 Hearts’ Jae Ha and Hang Ah
    3. 1% of Something’s Jae In and Da Hyun

OK, I need to stop procratinating. Good luck to everyone on the last day of the Christmas giveaways!

  2. ^ Those are all my favs! I can’t think of anymore…

    1) I am watching Full House 2 right now, and I am liking the OTP
    Man Ok and Tae Ik

    2) Can’t get rid of my May Queen obsession so…
    San and Hye Joo

    3) In It’s Okay Daddy’s Daughter,
I wished to see more of
    Hyuk Gi and Chae Ryung

  3. Ok so I do need to think about this some more but here’s who I’m feeling as OTPs:

-The alternate couple in INeed Romance 2012 (Ji Suk is so Hawt and cute all in one, love them).

    – King2Hearts: both couples, ah they were so well written, I loved watching either couple on the screen

And number three, I’ll get back to you on that!

  4. Ahhh!!! I can already see this one writing by itself since I’m so biased this year!

1- Jae Ha and Hang Ah from King 2 Hearts: My ultimate OTP of all time <3 He started out as an ass but never turned back once he discovered how precious his love is. Like ST said, they do bring the best out of each other. This was a couple who were as badass as they were epic and romantic. They fight together and consider the other one as an equal partner, which was lovely. No damsel in distress here, we had both of the man and woman kicking ass and ruling their new country together 😀 I really don't have anything coherent to say anymore xD

2- Seung Yoo and Se Ryung from The Princess's Man: Star crossed lover who fought tooth and nail to be together without giving up on their family honor and values. I love that their emotional connection was so strong that you believed in every bits of their love despite all the things that were keeping them apart.

3- Dae Woong and Mi Ho from My girlfriend is a Gumiho: What will you do if you were told that either you or your significant other will have to give up their life so the other could live? You sacrifice yourself so the other one will live the rest of their life in regret and sorrow? No, you fight against Fate and find a way to be together at all cost, of course! This couple was so cute and too sweet for word. I cried for them as much as I laughed with them, and that's saying a lot since it's a Hong sisters drama.

If you're familiar with these dramas, you'd probably notice that they all involve the main couple dealing with life and death situation with their life/love/country at stake. Their fight doesn't involve only them, but also other people. It's great to be able to beat the odds and make it out alive together, but these characters here managed to do it without forsaking other individuals too. Love is great and all, but if you can manage to be in love, stay in love and protect that love while still being able to care for the things and people around you, then you're epic in my book 🙂

  5. I have been trying to think all day, lol.

    1. Dan Sa Ran and Ah Da Mo from New Tales of Gisaeng (yep, I’m still glued to this show). Just something about each of them compliments the other. A lot of pride had to fall for them to truly be together.

    2. All three siblings from Family’s Honor and their respective partners. Each sibling was their own person and the one they loved just went so well with them. The daughter needed someone to show her she’s still alive, the eldest son also had his eyes opened to the world and the second eldest son was with someone that wouldn’t take his crap and helped change him. (I think this whole paragraph doesn’t make much sense but I don’t want to spoil things for anyone who hasn’t watched it)

    3. Gong Ah Jung and Hyun Ki Joon from Lie To Me. The show may have had more downs than ups with some people but I truly feel that it was awesome. My reason is this: We just got to see Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan date on screen.

  6. 1-Eun Chan and Han Kyul from coffee prince.I just love them to pieces.
2-Miho and Dae Wong from My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho. Can two people be any cuter?!
3-Kim Bong Do and Hee Jin from Queen In-hyun’s Man.They’re funny, cute, smart…what more do you want?!

  7. 1- Eun Chan and Han Kyul from Coffee Prince, so different and so alike at the same time. Perfect couple

2- Joo Won and Ra Im from Secret Garden. Actually, it’s more because of Joo Won =) The chemistry was present.

3- Too many, i can’t even choose just 3. This is unfair! Goong’s couple, Boys Over Flower, The Moon That Embbraces The Sun, The Snow Queen, My Name Is Kim Sam Soon…
