From time to time, I experience this odd nostalgia for Jang Na Ra, and today is one of those times. 🙂
I can’t explain why or when this happens, but for no apparent reason, I suddenly develop this intense craving to watch her in something or listen to one of her songs. And lucky you! You get to partake in my craving today! 😉
Perhaps it’s because she’s one of those Kdrama stars who represents for me some of my favorite and earliest Kdrama memories; I loved her in My Love Patzzi (2002) and absolutely adored her in Successful Story of a Bright Girl (2002).
So to celebrate her longevity in the Kdrama industry, what better way to indulge in my Jang-Na-Ra nostalgia than with this sugary music video from one of her recent shows, One More Happy Ending (2016)? 😉
In the immortal words of Sung Deok Soon (Reply 1988), “Let’s music!!!!” *chuckles* Where’s my Jung Hwan and his stunned look to complete this reference? 😛 Continue reading Friday Fun: Angels (앤젤스) – “Always for You” (얼웨이스 포 유)
Happy Friday, Twinkles~!
As you may have noticed by now, Kdramaland is atwitter with the goodness that we know as Goblin, so for this week’s “Friday Fun,” I thought it only appropriate to give a nod to one of the great songs that is helping to create such wonderful delight for us. 😉 Continue reading Friday Fun: Chan Yeol (찬열) and Punch (펀치) – Goblin OST 1 “Stay With Me”

Episode 10 is going to tug at your heartstrings as it seems as though Hae Young is edging forward in his campaign for Sang Hyo’s heart in the earlier part of the episode, only to be pushed back by both Sang Hyo’s determination to move on and Sung Gyeom’s full-on campaign to press his suit forward as the episode progresses.
*sigh* I no longer know who’s the male “lead” anymore since I don’t know how the writer’s going to extricate herself from this quandary: Hae Young shrinks in pitifulness while Sung Gyeom increases with muhshiseoness.
Whuh? *blinks eyes innocently* You’ve never heard of Konglish? 😉

Craziness abounds in My Secret Hotel, and our poor second lead, Jo Sung Gyeom, is ambushed with news that his newly established girlfriend has just gotten herself hitched to her ex-husband! And all in the name of protecting their hotel!
Let’s take a look at his reaction in the aftermath of this insane plot development…

In Episode 7, Kdramaland collides with the world of K-variety as Hong Jin Young plays a cameo and mistakes our Jo Sung Gyeom for her We Got Married husband Namgoong Min (actor’s real name). Even more hilarious is that she calls him Goong Min oppa, referring to her earlier mistake of thinking his last name was Nam instead of Namgoong. Heh. I made the same mistake until Hong Jin Young’s error on WGM introduced me to the existence of 2-syllable Korean last names…learning new things every day… 🙂
In any case, I’ve been loving the Hong Jin Young-Namgoong Min couple and their multitude of drama vignettes on WGM. This cameo appearance of hers seems like just another of their playful scenes together. Heh…too cute! Without further ado, here’s today’s memorable quote from Episode 7 of My Secret Hotel.

Yesterday was the beginning of this new little corner, and I thank you for all the love you’re showing our most recent addition to the weekly lineup. 🙂
Today’s memorable quote comes from Episode 6 of My Secret Hotel…*Deep sigh* Beware: Serious Case of Second Lead Syndrome! Continue reading Memorable Quote: My Secret Hotel Episode 6

Here’s the preview to Episode 14 with the dialogue translated in English. I haven’t had a chance to watch Episode 13 yet, but I’ll weigh in on that episode just as soon as I get caught up. Real Life is really raining on my fun frolics in Kdramaland. 😛
In any case, I hope you enjoy the preview. As usual, the clip and dialogue can be found below:

Due to the Lunar New Year celebration, only Episode 13 will air this week…or so I’ve been told. 😉 In any case, this is welcomed news for me since I’m getting quite swamped with another round of grading papers and exams. 😛
But that is neither here nor there. In line with my prediction last week, Song Yi’s reaction to Min Joon’s outlandish announcement is quite different from his expectations. I’m anticipating a lot of hijinks from this couple in this episode. 😉
In the meanwhile, you can find a clip of the preview to Episode 13 below as well as the English translations to the dialogue. Enjoy!

I know…I can’t quite believe that I’ve 1) caught up with this series and 2) am recapping this episode. However, despite my intentions to stay away from any current series, I’m plunging once again into Kdramaland in real time because Do Min Joon and Cheon Song Yi are just too adorable! 😉
Shall we get started?
