Happy Monday, Twinkles~!
Happy Lunar New Year, everyone!
I haven’t had much chance to scope out the Internet for the Answer Me 1994: Lunar New Year Special, but I did happen to find these three clips of the special uploaded by the studio company. I’m sorry to say that due to my time constraints, I’m only able to provide you with brief summaries of the clips, but something is better than nothing, right? 😉 Enjoy! The lunar New Year is just around the corner, and the cast of Answer Me 1994 has a special concert planned for us viewers. From the preview, it looks as though everyone will be there, not only singing but providing a few funny vignettes and such for our enjoyment. 🙂

I came across this fun little interview clip this morning and thought some of you might like to see it. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to translate the interview, but I thought simply watching their great interactions together would be worth the viewing for your hard-die Answer Me 1994 fans. 😉 Enjoy~! The quest to discover the identity of Na Jung’s husband continues, but today’s episode leaves a gnawing ache in my heart, and it has nothing to do with the romantic entanglement in the series.
Due to Chil Bong’s good nature, the viewers and friends alike have been unaware of the loneliness and hardships he’s had to endure…at least not fully. Today’s episode subtly underscores just how lonely Chil Bong is, and ultimately, that’s what leaves my heart feeling a bit tender right now as I type this post. True, he has good friends, but they just don’t get it. The underlying solitude that Chil Bong experiences and endures is made even more apparent in light of how many people are around him but never really around him.
Hmmm…have I said too much? Let’s take a look at the episode…

As we head into the final episode of this series, the mystery of Na Jung’s husband still looms, although I think there are enough tantalizing clues in the preview to give us an indication of her final selection.
Below are the usual video clip and dialogue translation to the preview. I’ll try to report back on today’s episode 20 later in the day. Until then, enjoy!

So…it looks like yours truly has learned to bend time after all. 😉
Episode 17 had enough developments that I went into fangirl mode for a squee here and there. OK, I’ll be honest. It was more like a SQUEE for several minutes and then some more SQUEEs as many of us replayed the scene(s) that shall not be named for those who dislike spoilers. 😉
Let’s just dive into the recap!

I half-seriously said to Jules earlier today that I was going to “BEND” time, even if it meant that I create a physical representation of Time and literally bend it to my will, but alas, the laws of nature can only be bent so much by a mere moral comme moi. Hence, I’ve resigned myself to the possibility that I may not get to recap Ep. 17 tonight.
However, stranger things have been known to happen, so one never knows. Yours truly may, indeed, learn the secrets to time bending–if not time travel–to complete today’s recap before I go to bed tonight. Perhaps….
As usual, I give you the preview clip and the dialogue translation in English. And if you’re planning on not watching Ep. 17, I can only ask one thing: WHY?!!! It’s THAT good. Jules and I had a momentary squee-fest on Twitter earlier today.

This week’s selection comes to you from two different weeks–last week’s Episode 15 and this week’s Episode 16. Both scenes highlight the range of emotions that the show does so deftly as well as underscore the versatility of the actors’ ability to do both the dramatic and the comedic.
Wanna see my choices? ^^

Today’s episode surprised me on a number of fronts: the surprisingly disappointing 1997 cameos, the
conspicuous egregious absence of Chil Bong, and the continued suggestion of Haitai as a possible husband. I’ll explain these points in the “Musings” section, but for now, let’s get into the recap!

Despite my fast-approaching deadlines of posting grades, I just couldn’t resist the urge to watch today’s episode #16. (Spoiler: It’s good!)
I’ll try to get that recap up by the end of the day. In the meanwhile, I have our usual preview and English translation for you to enjoy. 🙂

The series throws another curve ball (baseball reference intended) at our newly minted couple. We’ve got six episodes to go, and Episode 16 seems to hint at a possible time lapse during which Na Jung and Oppa will be apart from each other. Hmmm…it’ll be interesting to see if the old adage, “Out of sight, out of mind,” proves true in their case, and what this means for Chil Bong.
As usual, the clip of the preview along with its translated dialogue can be found below.

I’ve been fooled yet again by a well-placed, misleading preview. When will I ever learn to watch these previews with a discerning (aka suspicious) eye? *deep sigh*
The good news for Team Oppa fans is that Oppa is not, I repeat, not out of the honeymoon phase of his relationship with Na Jung. And the good news for Team Chil Bong fans is that “It’s not over till it’s over.”
Let’s get this recap started!

Tell me it isn’t so! Tell me that Oppa hasn’t already moved out of the honeymoon stage of his relationship with Na Jung! The preview to Episode 15 seems to indicate that Oppa may lose Na Jung after all…just as his little cousin predicted in the hospital.
No~! Say it isn’t so and that it’s just the writer yanking our chains again. -.-
As usual, you can catch the video clip of the video as well as the English translations below.

Today’s episode really felt like Chil Bong’s episode to me. Sure, we see Na Jung and Oppa enjoy the first stage of their relationship, but Chil Bong’s continued patience and perseverance in his devotion to Na Jung really stands out to me for some reason, probably because his conversation with Na Jung is Just. So. Darn. Bittersweet. It really gets me here. *pounds heart with fist to clear ache*
And the “last” night mentioned is not the military service for one of the boys but something equally distancing as Chil Bong says his goodbyes to his friends.

In under 12 hours–sooner for some of you Twinkles around the globe–we’ll find out just how quickly Na Jung and Oppa adapt to life as a “couple” and how the rest of the gang, especially Na Jung’s parents, react to this new development.
Until then, I give you our usual weekly preview clip and English translations. Enjoy!
