Musings for Today: Momentary Panic

So the past few days of the new year have been interesting. I found myself less inclined to watch Korean dramas.

Yes, you read correctly.  As you all know, I adore watching K-dramas; they are my little guilty pleasure after a long day at work or a treasured treat in the mornings with my steaming cup of coffee as I prepare for the day. However, I’ve had no desire whatsoever to watch Korean dramas recently!

Ack! Ack!! Ack!!!

At first, I thought it was because I was still sick. Then I rationalized that it was because I was recovering from the craziness of the Christmas and New Year’s programs at my church. I even wondered if my passion for K-dramas was on the wane again.

Anyone else knows what I’m talking about?

Let me explain: my viewing of K-dramas waxes and wanes on occasion. Over the years, I’ve been so crazed that I watched an entire drama in one day. Yeah, you read correctly…ONE DAY. Totally doable…after all, a series equals 16 episodes with an episode usually an hour long. On a good day, 16 episodes can be watched in the span of a 16-hour waking day.  (C’mon…I know some of you can totally relate. 🙂 heh heh) However, when the K-drama craze wanes, I’ve also been known to not watch a single episode for weeks at a time.

So, imagine my growing concern that I wasn’t watching my usual High Kick 3 or A Thousand Kisses! Thankfully, I realized today that it wasn’t that at all.

For a second there, I was worried, mentally gearing up for full-blown panic mode with questions looming above me: What about “Musings of a Twinkie”? What about the friends who read your musings? What about the already-paid-for-the year website? And most importantly, “What will you watch during the mornings and evenings?!!!

I can be so silly. *chuckles* The truth finally dawned on me: I was merely adjusting myself to the demands and distractions of a new year. *chuckles* Oh, I can be so so silly sometimes.

Anyhow, my apologies for this random musing, but I thought I’d share this since I didn’t post anything yesterday. Hopefully, you got a chuckle or two over my silliness. 🙂

  1. I know exactly what you mean!! I find myself going through cycles of crazed drama watching and some “meh” moments also. I haven’t felt like watching ATK much. I think my husband and I are (still) on ep 28. But reading one of your teasers that Woo Jin’s dad gets amnesia and Joo Mi miscarries … Wha??!! We might have to start watching again. Ebb and flow, my friend, ebb and flow. 🙂

  2. I am begging you to please not abandon us here you recap half the shows I love or give me teasers to tide me over.Sometimes you do want to breathe away from the drama’s but then another K-drama sucks you right back in. Also can you please translate the preview for Ep 41 for ATK it looks so good but I want to know the words so I know if they are misleading us again. Keep up the good work.

    1. Hi Kayana20! No worries about my quitting any time soon. LOL.
As for the teaser to episode 41, I already did the recap…take a look under the ATK category. Enjoy! And thanks for enjoying my blog. 🙂

  3. I’m a newbie and I have had days like that recently! These are generally the moments when I re-watch episodes randomly of dramas I liked; repeat watching a favorite or watch one episode after one episode of different dramas being totally bored with the story and can’t watch anymore (sorry, I am having a hard time with FBRS!) I too long for the days when I watch a 16 (and also a 24) episode in one-two days! So I have been there and done that too (and proud of it!) I love your musings and recaps but would totally understand if you have to take a break (HAHA!)

    1. Aw…thanks! I love this blog community! You guys are not only appreciative, but also incredibly supportive. Have no fear; I may be taking a break from recapping the long ATK episodes for right now due to scheduling, but I will continue blogging random musings, teasers, etc. 🙂

  4. LOL
Hi Twinkie, for a moment i thought you really are going to stop all, and here i am… what? what? what?
Kekekekek, i know we have the moment like that, just like i am at the moment off ATK and still havent have the urge to continue. With all the slapping and shouting around, it really make me sick as i cant condone to such behavior. But i still read the recap, just to update myself.
By the way, are you watching Moon Embrace Sun and Wild Romance? The child actors and actress are so awesome :)This is my second sageuk after SKKS (the author wrote both novel)
It is not too late to wish you all the best in 2012, is it?

    1. Happy New Year to you as well! It’s never too late for well wishes. 🙂 I’d love to try the sageuks, but they scare me a bit because of their length and emotional involvement. LOL So silly, huh? Anyhow, I wish you a wonderful 2012 with many blessings! It’s good to hear from you. 🙂

  5. Not the clip at the end of 41. I meant the preview MBC releases. For episode 41 and 42 combines since it had more scenes in it.Their translation makes no sense so ATK fans are confused.Well a little spoiler JY and Woobin hold hands and talk. So excited to see that!

  6. Ah…for those glorious days of watching a complete 16 episode drama in one day. *heehee* I haven’t done that for awhile but that’s only because right now I’m catching episodes of the dramas that I’m watching as soon as they come out! LOL!
I also recommend “Moon Embracing the Sun” – we’re only 2 episodes in and I’m so hooked already it’s pitiful. *snort* As for A Thousand Kisses, everyone is still not happy with the way the story is going so you’re not missing TOO much.

    1. LOL. The temptation of starting another drama, and a sageuk at that. LOL. We’ll see…Don’t be surprised if you see a mention of METS sometime in the near future; you’ll know who did the influencing. 😉
