Musing for Today: Who Are the Twinkles? – 2015

Each year around the month of October, we celebrate our Musing’s birth month, and this year, in a final nod to the fifth year as a blog community, I thought that I’d forego our usual Sunday bulletin board announcements and post a 2015 “Who Are the Twinkles.”

In reading over the comments from the last three years this past week, I’ve experienced a variety of emotions for what was, what is, and what is to come, especially as I surveyed the changes that have taken place in this community. For one thing, the number of readers has changed as some Twinkles continue to romp with me, “move on” from their interest in K-dramas, or revert back to silent reader mode.

As this is the last week of our month-long celebration, I thought it would be appropriate to introduce and/or remind each other–old and new Twinkles alike–of who is now part of this community and how we came to be a part of the Musings community.

To my knowledge, there are twinkles from North America, South America, Central America, Australia, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The only continent missing, of course, is Antarctica, although an Antarctica reader would be absolutely awesome!

Then there are the fangirls and fanboys. To date, I know of at least five fanboys who read this blog, and these are the ones who’ve left me the occasional comment or email but otherwise keep their identities confidential. 🙂

So…as we head into the last week of October–and our birth month–together, please leave the community a comment below introducing us to you and to how you became a part of this blog community. Me, you guys know from the information on this blog. 🙂

I’m including this picture from last year’s trip to Jeju Island so that you can see for yourself that Twinkles do exist in the Real Life realm. 😉

I look forward to reading and learning about all of you! <3

  1. One day, I’ll be in one of those pictures! Bel aka NewKDramaAddict currently residing in the US state of Virginia. Not a native so don’t be surprised that I CANNOT wait to retire and move from this state!!

  2. Reader from Texas here! I think i started reading since about 2 years ago when I was in high school because I was HUGE kdrama addict. I’m not as into dramas as I was before but i still come here once in a while to catch up and read on what’s new 🙂 I’m one of those “silent readers” lol but know that I still support y’all and I’m super grateful for everything you guys do 😀

    1. *waves* Hi, Christine V.! Good to know a bit more about you. 🙂 I especially appreciate your dropping up Musings to catch up, even though you’re not as into Kdramas as before. 🙂 Thanks for the continued support and the occasional comments to let us know that you’re still around. Here’s to many more years together! 😉

  3. Hi there! I’m on the Asian Continent – if we’re going by Continents.
I’ve been a reader for some time – forgot when – hard to keep track as I’, on this blog and that.
But de-lurked I think sometime last year? Or was it this year? 😛 Hahahaha!
I tell you – this swiss cheese memory has its uses – I can watch and re-watch a drama ad infinitum and its like new!!! LOL!!!

I do enjoy the fun times here and will continue to occasionally de-lurk. Love and hugs to all Twinkies <3

    1. Hurray for de-lurking! 🙂 If you don’t mine my asking, which country in the Asian continent? We have a few Twinkles in Singapore and Malaysia. It would be interesting to learn that some of you are within traveling distance of each other. Imagine the fun Real Life get-togethers! 😉

  4. I’m in California, Long Beach. I have been coming here for at least a year. I don’t remember exactly when either 😀
I came from another drama blog I think. I don’t think I’ve made many comments maybe one or two, but I read everything. This has become one of my favorite drama blogs. Always so upbeat and friendly.

  5. Ciao from Europe. I’m an Italian who’s wandering around three countries (and maybe four once or twice a year) and that’s very, very NOT cost-effective but how can I give up on my workaholic boyfriend! Even the name I’m using right now is the name of his dad’s village in Cyprus! My “illness” is beyond therapy, I guess 🙂
I found this blog by accident, a very happy “accident” if I may add. For 3 years I was a silent reader since I was mostly watching every K-drama I could find, studying for school and was falling in love, all at the same time, LOL!!
I’m glad I started making comments because there were replies to them and then more comments and then more replies and I have lots of fun ever since. Our addiction is on the healthy side of the term and that’s amazing! You’re my friends from all around the world who know nothing about Italy’s future nor the new therapy process (or the new psychiatric drug)…Thank God for that!!! 😉

    1. Hariaharia! So you hail from Italy, huh? 🙂 I have fond memories of visiting your country, or more specifically Florence and Rome. *Happy sigh* Such beautiful sculptures, paintings, architecture,…I could go on and on. 🙂
So glad that you stumbled upon this blog by “accident.” And hurray for becoming a vocal reader after 3 years! Wow~! So you’d been reading for a while before I even knew of your existence, huh? 😉
Here’s to many more happy years together as we traverse the world of Kdramaland!

      1. Here’s to our happy years to come! “Salute” as if we were drinking a glass of fine wine while were casually chatting about dramas. Well, wouldn’t that be a beautiful picture? 😉 All our friends together in my father’s little vineyard during springtime or summertime- summer is fantastic in my hometown and the beach is not far either…Italy is so much more than the museums and the Capella Sistina. Actually our “Mare Nostrum” is breathtaking everywhere (even if war and despair are all around us nowadays…).

  6. I’m guilty of moving on to C Dramas but hey, I still watch KDramas! Not as many as I used to but this years KDramas quality have kind of dropped so…. ottoke 🙂

Just in case we have new Twinkles, I hail from Malaysia and have been here since good old ATK days! And I love it here because you don’t see nasty or hateful comments on this blog because we are all mature adults! ** yay ** *yipee**

    1. Ah…ATK, who could ever forget that? The painful K-drama that brought so many of us together. lol.
I think the last C-drama (or rather T-drama) I saw was Down with Love, starring Ella and Jerry. 🙂 Glad you’re still part of the Musings community and now part of my RL, too. 🙂

    2. I rarely watch C-dramas. I think I’ve only watched 3.

But I do venture into the occasional “J-drama”. Albeit mostly Anime LOL!!!

I do like Hana Yori Dango though I can’t stand BOF – my apologies in advance – it’s just a personal preference thing. I think I actually watche HYD first before watching BOF about 5 years after the hype. Hahaha!!

But I do still enjoy kdramas loads.

  7. Hey my Twinklings! It’s KStylez, still kicking it in Korea. Miss yall. I need to get back to blogging once more… Life got in the way ????❤❤❤

    1. KStylez!!! *tackle hugs* It’s so good to hear from you! <3 For some reason, Nayong and I thought that you were already back in the States. Hmm...perhaps we'll get to see each other again soon. 😉

  8. Hello everyone..I am oozzeee from the Philippines. I don’t remember anymore how and when I found this blog but I camped out here the most during the Glorious Days recaps.

  9. Annyeonghaseyo! Jaime the Drama Noona here! I’m here in North Idaho in the US, only a few miles from Canada. I’ve been around the blog for ages! I found you through my T-List two years ago. I can’t believe that I managed to just lurk for so long. But I promise that will change chingu!
