Synopsis: A radio show host (DJ) is unexpectedly visited by one of his listeners who turns the “good life” as he knows it upside down. Although the unexpected visitors are a very unwelcome intrusion into his orderly life at first, he soon warms up to his “ready-made” family, and his once small popularity blossoms into solid star status as a result of this surprise blessing.
Musings: I finally saw this movie this past week while putting the final touches on my summer schedule’s responsibilities…I saw this mainly because a number of twinkles suggested it a while back. And my reaction? I loved it! I was most pleasantly surprised and thought the time was well spent! Even my mother loved it when she caught the last 10 minutes of the show…she wanted me to “rewind” the YouTube video so that she could watch it from the very beginning. 🙂
I’ve always known that I loved Cha Tae Hyun movies (think My Sassy Girl and Hello Ghost), but for whatever reason, I never got around to seeing this movie, which was released back in 2008. The family-oriented movie is jam-packed with lots of funny, heart-warming moments. I laughed and then laughed some more, especially as the grandfather bonded with his grandson. I mean, who can resist the cuteness of the Go game scene? And the irony of what happens with the father (third year in junior high school) and the daughter (first year in high school) is not lost. Not only do the two share parenting ages, but they also share musical abilities; actually all three of the Nams share amazing musical, which adds a nice dimension to their relationship and to the movie.
But what I appreciated most about the movie is its development of the family unit. Cha Tae Hyun’s character starts off thinking only about himself but then learns to put his family first as outside forces start to look down on his child and grandson. Heh…the shopping spree alone cracked me up for a good few minutes. Then there’s the reaction he has when he discovers who sired his grandson, which is priceless! LOL.
Below is the movie trailer, and here is the YouTube movie link. Enjoy! And happy Monday! I hope you love the movie as much as I did! 😉
