Synopsis: A movie about a man named Jong-woo (Shin Ha Kyun), an ex-convict with a long record of petty crimes and theft who is coincidentally involved in a murder case after picking up a customer as a driver-for-hire at a ritzy hotel. When his father is accused of murder, Gi-Hyuk (Lee Min Ho-I) is shocked and confused that his father is now a murder suspect. Gi-Hyuk attempts to uncover the truth.
Musings: Shin Ha Kyun is always a surprise for me when I watch his movies. He can play funny, serious and very deep characters effectively. I had no idea what to expect while watching this movie. The police were funny while the bad guys were extremely BAD!
Some of the most violent scenes was with the killer, played by Park Sang-Wook who was on a mission to recover information that was contained on a cell phone owned by the dead rider.
The chase and car scenes were sometimes funny and sometimes works of art! There is this one scene where Cha Jong Woo flings himself onto a moving car trailer! It was so obviously a dummy that it made you laugh but it happened so fast that the untrained eye might miss that fact.
It takes his genius son to put it all together while his father is being chased not only by bad guys and hit men but the police as well as intelligence agents. It’s definitely reminiscent of The Fugitive meets Enemy of the State (two favorite movies of mine). Not a bad movie considering it is over 2 hours long. Definitely entertaining.
