Musings: After watching this movie, my opinion of who should have played Nodame in the Korean version was confirmed, again. This was a truly fun movie to watch. Shim Eun-Kyung as Oh Doo Ri was perfectly cast and played.

With every conversation and interactions she has with her family and friends, you still see Oh Mal Soon, that was a fete in itself. She truly channeled the older actress throughout the entire movie.

Shim Eun-Kyung also has a wonderful voice, I have to assume she was really singing. Her stage presence during their performances were memorable and again made you believe that she was an older woman in younger body. To be only 20 years old, she is an accomplished actress and I look forward to more in the future.

Trailer is available on on Hancinema Website only. The movie is available on several sites. Ask me if your interested.

  1. I don’t think I’ve seen any of Shim Eun Kyung’s works aside from this one. I just watched Miss Granny because of this post, and I agree- she would make the perfect Nodame! I can’t believe she’s only 20 years old! I think I definitely have to look at Shim Eun Kyung’s other work.
Plot wise, while watching, I thought it would be quite predictable but it wasn’t. Some of the story seems to be all over the place though.

I give props to Shim Eun Kyung. 🙂 Wonderful actress.

    1. My first experience was when she played in Bad Guy. Not a lot of people watch the drama because of the ending but it was good and she played the sister great! Next I saw her in Sunny. I always look for her work!! And yes, she is amazing for 20! Can you see her as Nodame now?
