Synopsis: A sweet love story in which two college students meet in an architecture class and fall in love. Fifteen years later, the girl seeks out her first love in order to ask him to build her a dream house in Jeju Island.

Musings: I had wanted to watch this movie the first time I heard that Uhm Tae Woong was starring in it. His foray into 1 Night 2 Days made me look at him in a totally different light. 🙂

This is a wonderful movie that flashes back and forth from past to present and then back again to give us a look into the lives of these two college students who find their way back to each other again after a heart-wrenching misunderstanding in college and learn to move on with their lives…Definitely a perfect way to ease into the week despite a bittersweet ending. AND…our Eun Shi Kyung’s Jo Jung Suk rounds out the young cast and provides a number of comedic moments, ones that make viewers shake their heads and wonder about the mystery that is the teenage boy/young man. LOL. His tutorials on dating are H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!

You can find it on YouTube under “Arch101 (Eng Sub) kmovie” or simply click on this link. 🙂 Just make sure to click the CC button to activate the close caption for English subtitles. Enjoy! I chuckled a number of times. 🙂 Below is the trailer for the movie in case you want to preview it before committing to the entire movie.

Final comment? A heart-warming Movie Monday selection. I’m definitely glad I took some time out tonight to watch it. 🙂

  1. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I have been trying to ding this for months! Every time, I’d find it, it would disappear from YouTube! As a matter of fact, I am going to watch it now before it disappears again!

      1. Excellent! Jo Jung Suk was so funny! The snake/kiss scene was hysterical! I had to watch it twice! The bad taste that is Je-Hoon and a Fashion King has been effectively removed from my mouth! He did an excellent job! Suzy was also good. Han Ga In and Uhm Tae Woong were their usual awesomeness! Thanks! I’d given up trying to find this!

  2. Caught the first 15 min yesterday and liked it! I’ll try and watch the whole movie when things quieten down around here. Thanks for the recommendation!

  3. Ha, I couldn’t resist, and watched most of the movie last night! (can I say how pleased I was to find out that I could watch it, with subtitles, on my phone – I’m not good with technical details and I didn’t know it was possible).

I thought it was a pretty sweet movie, with most of the real ‘acting’ being done by the younger actors. Jo Jung Suk was indeed priceless! Such a difference from straightlaced Eun Shi-kyung.

I think I was ok with the ending. They finally realised what they had meant to each other, even if it was 15 years too late. But, with their lives moving in different directions, I suppose it was realistic that they didn’t both drop everything and try and rekindle the romance. Sometimes, memories are the sweetest possessions one can have of a love relationship. I am not too sure if I liked him returning her CD/ Walkman at the end. That proves he did try and meet her, right? Or at least went to the meeting place? So, it signified that he had cared for her, even back then, but also that it is time to move on with that love remaining a precious memory. sigh.

    1. It was a great movie but so sad that the relationship ended because of a misguided misunderstanding. That made me sad but it was still a beautiful story!

  4. It was a sweet movie; the pacing was just right and the colors and composition was fantastic (Korean DPs are great at this!). Thanks for the recommendation!

  5. I bailed on this one when I figured out what they ending would be like. I know, that’s probably cowardly, but what can I say? I really should go back and watch it entirely….I must work on my fairy tale mindset HA HA
