In case you haven’t heard, May is the month when Korea celebrates children (May 5th – Children’s Day) and parents (May 8th – Parents’ Day). In honor of these two holidays, I’m calling this month “Family Month” and holding what I hope is a coveted prize package. 🙂 Let’s get into the details!

As you’ve probably noticed from the cover picture, the “main” item for this giveaway package is a copy of the newly-released movie The Admiral: Roaring Currents in blu-ray format. I believe it’s in both Korean (English subtitles) and English (dubbed). Obviously, I don’t physically have the copy in front of me to check since it’s currently en route to my house. 🙂 After all, the movie was only just released this week on April 28, 2015. *dances Happy Snoopy Dance*

Some of you may remember that both NewKDramaAddict and I love this movie to pieces! Yup, so much so that we each did a review on it. *sheepish grin* You can read her review here and mine here. And don’t be surprised if you recognize Let’s Eat Season 2′Kwon Yul as the admiral’s son if and when you eventually watch/re-watch the movie. Let’s just say that I ordered an extra copy to give to my father for Father’s Day in June. *whispers “It’s a secret, though”* 🙂

In any case, the blu-ray copy of the movie is the only “revealed” prize. The other little goodies to accompany the movie is to be a surprise! Have no fear, Twinkles! I shall make sure that the surprise goodies are suitable for both men and women. We are, after all, a growing little community of hearty K-drama lovers, male and female. 😉

Without further ado, here are the usual rules:

1. Must be a subscriber to this blog as this is a thank-you gift to my subscribers. If you’re not already a subscriber, that is easily remedied by subscribing (right side of the screen). :)

2. Open internationally. We are, after all, an international community of Kdrama lovers! ;)

3. You can enter by leaving a comment below. Please feel free to leave comments about anything you like. One comment will count as one entry, and only one comment will be counted per day. However, you’re always welcomed to leave more than one comment if you so desire; I’ll just be counting one per day.

4. The giveaway starts now and ends at 11:59PM (PST) on May 7, 2015, so that I can make the announcement on Parents’ Day. 🙂

You may enter for yourself or give the prize away to a loved one. As always, many thanks for helping to make this site a fun and happy place for me and other fellow Twinkles! Good luck, Twinkles!

  1. I got a posting that this was released in the US on facebook, and I immediately shared the link and clearly stated that I wanted it for Mother’s Day (hint #1). I even included the direct link to buy it on amazon (hint #2). If I get bath salts instead or a piece of jewelry that I will never wear instead, I’ll be mad.

I think this was the best movie of 2014 in any language. I drove two hours to go see it and took my long-retired mother who hates war movies and she loved it. Now I am trying to decide whether to buy her a copy for Mothers Day or to get my dad (who does love war movies) a copy for Fathers Day.

I don’t really want to win this giveaway because someone in my house will need to get this for me anyway. I just wanted to share my excitement that it is out on dvd in my region with English subs!!! SO EXCITED!!!

Oh, can you tell I’m excited?

  2. Great thinking behind this giveaway and with a great movie as the frontline of the gifts (curious about the hidden ones 😀 )! I have already watched it 3 times and it never gets old, the whole naval combat scene is so intense; feels-wise and battle-wise! Thanks a lot for this opportunity and good luck to everyone! 🙂

  3. Ha, that may be one of the few history movies from Korea that even people not interested in the country’s culture will enjoy Not knowing the history isn’t the problem with this movie, even better, it makes one want to know more about that period. I liked that movie a lot, mostly thanks to the marvelous acting of Choi Min Shik and Jo Jin Woong – both were on fire!

  4. I did hear the buzz about this movie prior to this giveaway but after all the above comments, now I’m really excited to watch this movie.

  5. I’m really curious if I’ll like this movie because I read elsewhere that Koreans enjoyed it in part because it was about such a famous historical figure to them. So will it have the same impact on an outsider with little knowledge of Korean history.

  6. I have not watched the movie yet but reading all the raves about it seems like a must watch. It is so nice of you to have this giveaway.
