Giveaway: June

I can’t believe it’s already been a month since our last giveaway. Where has the time gone? Or more specifically, why does time feel as though it’s flying by? LOL. I can now proudly say that I completely understand my mother when she comments that time seems to fly by. When I was in school, time seemed to absolutely crawl.

Not anymore…LOL. Ah, the benefits of age. 😉

Anyhow, it’s that happy time of month again when I give away a little prize to a lucky twinkle. I know this OST was the prize for the Valentine’s Day giveaway, but a few things made me decide to offer it again (aside from the fact that I had an extra copy):

1. A number of people have been reading my old A Thousand Kisses recaps in the past few days. My suspicion is that some country is airing the show right now. So…I’m sure some people will be interested in this CD. 🙂

2. There were a number of people who wanted it the first time I offered it back in February (seems so long ago), and I thought this might be a nice way to offer those people who were interested then a second chance at it again now.

3. Ji Hyun Woo’s cute smile. 😉 After all, some of you are watching Queen In Hyun’s Man and have been smitten by the Ji Hyun Woo bug. Confess…I know Ji Hyun Woo noonas or dongsengs are out there. Personally, I first discovered his adorable cuteness during Old Miss Diaries.

I’ll probably include a little extra surprise along with the CD as I always do for these monthly giveaways, so don’t be surprised if you see something in addition to the CD. 🙂

Now…for the rules:

1. Anyone can enter. Simply comment on this post AND subscribe to this site if you haven’t done so already. This is open to ALL Twinkles–new and old. 🙂 Yes, even those who have won previous giveaways. I am an equal opportunity giveaway hostess. 😉

2. Comment as many times as you like. Each comment equals one entry. Last month’s giveaway was, by far, the most amusing one I have held to date; I had so much fun reading the comments.

3. Giveaway starts at midnight (PST) on the 1st of this month and ends at 11:59 PM (PST) on the 7th.

4. One winner will be randomly selected from the entries received.

Good luck! Remember, this month’s giveaway ends on June 7th at 11:59PM (PST). Bonne chance, my Twinkles!

P.S. I’m trying out this new “featured image” format. Thoughts? Should I return to the previous format?

  1. Thanks for always being so generous! I always come onto your site but never noticed the subscription button. I shall do that now 😛

  2. Though I love A Thousand Kisses, I think I’ll back down for the other twinkles teehee ^^”

But I will appear. On occasion. Watch out for some weird facts >: D

  3. Have to say, I seriously enjoy this OST. The winner will LOVE it! Oh what this story could have been! *breathes* I’m okay, I swear… I… *twitch*… SWEAR. ^.~

  4. Hi Twinkie,

I first stumbled upon your blog when looking for recaps to King2hearts and I’ve been captivated ever since. Thank you for your hard work and effort in recapping, and in sharing your thoughts!

I confess, I’m one of those who have been reading your old ATK recaps because of Ji Hyun-woo, whom I’ve recently discovered in Queen In-Hyun’s man. I like the way his face lights up when he smiles 🙂

I was intrigued to read your description of what a ‘twinkie’ is – I didn’t know the term existed, apart from being a type of tea cake? I’m Chinese, and I guess I’d best be described as a ‘banana’ – yellow on the outside, but white inside – as I am much more comfortable communicating in English than in Mandarin. And, in the local slang, I prefer to ‘eat potatoes’ rather than ‘eat rice’!

    Have a blessed Sunday!

    1. Welcome to the family, shl! Thank you for appreciating Twinkie’s hard work! Her blog is very lonely right now TT^TT

Twinkies are tea cakes? o.o I just thought they were these spongy things I could buy at Dollar General xD (plus the slang term Twinkie explains). Your little background story was interesting to read ^^ I think a lot of people are like that, including myself. I am Hispanic, and there is this term called “coconut” lol brown on the outside, white on the inside. I wasnt raised to be bilingual though, so I can only speak English -.-

Anyways, welcome to the fam again!

      1. Thanks for the welcome, Wol!

Um, I’m not really sure if ‘tea cakes’ was the right phrase to use to describe twinkies, because we don’t have them where I come from (Singapore). I only know if them from American sitcoms and the Peanuts comic strip!

Thanks for sharing about ‘coconuts’. Isn’t it great to know that there are terms that are common to every culture? Hee hee.

      1. I was about to say the same thing! What is wrong with you twinkles?! COMMENT LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW!Am I the only one that gets way too into these things? lol

Anyways HanJiYoon, DO WATCH THIS! I was very addicted to this show. The romance between adults is more intense than the romance between teenagers (in my opinion). It shows that romances aren’t just sugary sweet, but bitter also.

ALSO. The OST for this drama is amazinnn. I have my favorite song on my iPod 😀

    1. I’ve been watching a few episodes here and there, mainly due to Ji Hyun-woo. I think that the writer lost steam and direction mid-way through. It seemed to become excessively melodramatic and lost its charming moments. Most pp advise just watching the earlier episodes. You can try reading Twinkle’s recaps first to see if it fits your fancy!

      1. I heard the show encountered censorship issues so the writer couldn’t continue the story line and had to change it a bit so they would continue to air it. And it wouldnt be banned. I never finished the entire series (guess I shouldve said that lol) i watched most of it though xD (and the ending episode…la la la)

        1. Ditto Wol, I skipped and just read the recaps from Twinkie, finally watched the last episode last week.
Big let down midway so sadd, it could have been good.
Flames of Ambition, another drama I gave up halfway
Am on Sign right now up to episode 5

          1. Ooh, I’ve just watched the last episode too! Or, let me be honest, I skimmed the episode for scenes relevant to Woo Bin and Joo Young. SPOILER ALERT That smile in the last scene really lit up the screen 🙂

For the first time, I’m grateful that the site I go to to watch ATK episodes has each episodes in parts. I can play 2 or more parts at the same time and just focus on the scenes I want to i.e. with Woo Bin and Joo Young.

      2. Thanks for the replies, Wol and shl! 😀 Oh… yes, I prefer the realistic romance between adults also. I will definitely check out ATK this summer!

        1. @HanJiYoon – I am not sure if I would actually say that ATK was ‘realistic romance between adults’. There were a LOT of moments in that show that had me going, ‘what????’! Erm, I think much of the conflict was highly contrived, although some parts were definitely realistic.

Give the first few episodes a try, and see how it goes? For realism, I haven’t watched it myself, but I read the recaps for ‘A Thousand Days’ Promise’, and that sounds pretty grimly realistic. Another one on the list?

  5. Hi Twinkie,

I don’t know if this is posted somewhere else on your blog, but do you have a favourite kdrama? And how does ATK compare to that? Just curious 🙂

    1. Great question! I actually started writing about a few of them under “Marathon Drama” if you are interested. There are definitely more dramas I love that have yet to make it to the list, but I think it is safe to say that ATK is not one of them…unfortunately.
Hope this answers your question. Glad you are an active member of this community! 🙂

      1. Thank you! I am a newcomer to kdramas – only started watching them last year from Brilliant Legacy/ Shining Inheritance was broadcast locally. Haven’t stopped since! I will enjoy reading about the ‘older’ kdramas you’ve enjoyed 😎

  6. Hellllo!

I stumbled upon your site quite recently because of your Standby recaps. I enjoy them immensely and thanks so much for taking the time to do them! I also love your movie monday highlights, it brings back a lot of memories. My Little Bride was the first Korean movie I’ve ever watched and I still crack up every time i revisit it! Even now I’ll basically watch anything with Moon Geun Young or Kim Rae Won in it.

  7. Omg guys. The giveaway ends today. Where are all the comments?? Ahahaha. If no one starts posting, I’m gonna commence a mass spam attack or something. 😛

    1. In my life
      there’s been heartache
      pain I don’t
      know if I can face
      it again Can’t
      stop now

For some reason this one is very sad….
these aren’t supposed to be sad! D:

  8. I like to go over the posts and I’m like “whoah the giveaway blew up” and then I read the comments…LOL I never laughed so hard xD my poor little Han Ji Yoon! I’m sorry for making you lonely! Don’t know I you’ll ever read this, though. I’ll participate with you in July! Promise! Engrish lol I’ll post some really good Engrish next time. Thank you for the idea! ^^

(oh and don’t feel weird making lots of comments, if you go to the other giveaway posts, you’ll see me spelling random words and stuff lol)
