Happy Friday, Twinkles~
For this week’s “Friday Fun,” I thought that I would introduce you to just one of the many talented people/groups inundating the Korean Indie Music scene.
I know that we’re in the middle of spring, not fall, but I love this song and often listen to it when I need a balm to soothe my soul after a particularly crazy work week. I hope you enjoy it, too!
Group Name: The Tourist
Members: Lindsey Park, Hae Joong Yang, etc. (There are 10 members in total!) You can read their interview here.
Debut: April 2012
Agency Label: Tuna Music, Sony Music Entertainment
Song Title: “October Nightscape”
Video Rating: PG
Musings: As I mentioned in the introduction, I adore this song. It reminds me of a fall day in Europe (possibly because of the bandoneon portion) except that in this music video, I’m taking a quick tour of Seoul as the woman in the video heads up to Nam San Tower on a cable car after a day of work.
I thought that many of you would enjoy a glimpse of Seoul at night, especially as some of you are hoping to travel to Seoul and/or are patiently awaiting the next installment of my Seoul 2013 travelogue post. 🙂
As you can hear from the MV, the music has a timeless quality that gently takes the listener back to a simpler time of rest and relaxation, a time when we knew how to make time to refresh our wearied souls with soothing music and wonderful sights. The singer’s equally soothing and sweet voice provides that additional balm and nostalgia for an earlier time in our lives…or at least how we feel when we go on vacation and have the luxury of time to simply soak in the atmosphere and relish the moment instead of rushing to do the next thing on our to-do list. 🙂
I’m curious to hear what you think of this song, so leave me a comment. I hope you get a chance to check out this talented group! 🙂 Until next week then…Have a wonderful weekend, Twinkles! 😀
