Friday Fun: Park Bo Young – “Leave” (떠난다)

FF 07-31-15 2

Happy Friday, Twinkles~! It’s been a good two months since I last wrote a “Friday Fun” post, huh? But with my summer term almost over, I’m now ready to resume blogging duties. 🙂

I know that my FF posts usually feature upbeat songs, but today, I thought that I would introduce you to the newly released song from the Oh My Ghost OST in commemoration of some goodbyes that I had to say yesterday.

You see, for the past eight years, I’d been teaching at a second college as an adjunct faculty member. During that time, I had made some unforgettable memories, forging meaningful relationships and honing my craft as a teacher. But more than anything else, I’d come to love the college that had provided me with so many opportunities…and now as I prepare to settle down permanently as a full-time, tenure-track faculty member at my first college, I thought it only fitting that I say a final farewell to my time at this college, one that has certainly meant a great deal to me.

For those of you in similar situations of transitioning into a new phase of your life, or perhaps you’ve already done so and would like to simply reminisce about the past, I hope that this soothing song of memories and leaving–sung by none of that Park Bo Young–will help you not only ease into another weekend but remind you of the good memories and provide you with hope for what is to come.

From one Twinkle to another, I wish you all a glorious weekend!

  1. XD Thanks for the post. I’m currently so into this show (usually I wait for a drama to be totally finished before starting, but I saw a clip of this show and decided to jump right in.) The acting and cinematography are soo good. <3 This song is so melancholy and the video is a nice recap of what's happened so far.

      1. That it is. 🙂 Also congrats on your tenure. I said melancholy thinking it meant bittersweet, not sure why I attached that definition to that word in my brain. Time for some rewiring. But I was trying to capture the sadness of leaving your job even though escaping adjunct status is a happy occasion, compared to the song. So, in short, so bittersweet. 🙂 ( I guess in the song she’s happy to have been around him and to know him, even though she feels she needs to leave. I really should learn Korean.)

        1. Thank you, Shirlyn! I’m now on tenure-track…tenure will happen in about 3 years. 🙂
Yes, it was definitely bittersweet. I posted the last set of grades at that college last night.
