Romps in Korea: Travels of Our shl and Tabs!

Korean Vacation Nam San Tower

Annyeong, chingudeul! I’m shl, from Singapore. My daughter, Tabitha (‘Tabs’ for short) and I took a short trip to Seoul in October this year to celebrate the end of her Primary 6 examinations (these are a very BIG DEAL in Singapore), and Snoopy’s Twinkie has kindly invited me to share our experiences on her blog!  Continue reading Romps in Korea: Travels of Our shl and Tabs!

Seoul 2014: Teddy Bear Museum (Part 1 of 2)

Seoul 2014.1

Hello, everyone! *waves enthusiastically from Southern California*

Since my summer schedule’s been a bit unaccommodating, at least to my regular blogging schedule, I thought that I would forego the deadlines of my usual weekly posts–namely “Friday Fun” and “Bulletin Board”–and instead take some time to prepare those long-awaited Seoul 2014 posts. Heh, yes, I haven’t forgotten about them. I did mention that I’m considered the turtle of the family, right?

So, for your viewing pleasure, I present to you the first of two posts on the famed Teddy Bear Museum at Jeju Island. Warning: There are a lot of pictures, so it may take a while for all the photos and videos to load properly, hence the two separate posts. 🙂

Ready for some cuteness overload? *squees in anticipation* Continue reading Seoul 2014: Teddy Bear Museum (Part 1 of 2)

We are slowly but surely getting to them, and this is the first of a number of posts that we have planned for you as we take you vicariously through Seoul. 🙂  Continue reading Seoul 2014: Mr. Jang and His Traditional Royal Cookies

Romps in Korea: Day 3 – Meeting Nayong for the First Time!

P1020121

Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. That’s me…posing with the ever cheesy “Victory” fingers…in front of a huge picture Lee Seo Jin and Lee Seung Gi.

Heh! Eat your heart out, maknae! 😉

Day 3 marked the first time that I met a Twinkle in Real Life–outside of Kdramaland–and it was definitely a meeting that I will never forget!  Nayong was so sweet to coordinate her vacation time to match mine, and she was amenable to pretty much anything I suggested, which makes her one very wonderful traveling buddy in my book. 🙂  Shall we take a look at what Nayong and I did on Day 3 of my trip? Continue reading Romps in Korea: Day 3 – Meeting Nayong for the First Time!

Romps in Korea: Day 2 – Bu Pyeong

P1020101

Day 2 in Korea…I hope you’re ready! 😉

Despite the jet lag of that first day, I was, thankfully, able to get up fairly early the next morning. I had arranged to meet my friend Alice and two other friends, Yong Suk and Joo Ri, in the city of Bu Pyeong for a cup of coffee, some great conversation, and of course church service. Heh…some of my little minions were surprised that I still go to church when I vacation. *shakes head* Silly little minions. LOL  Continue reading Romps in Korea: Day 2 – Bu Pyeong

Romps in Korea: Dinner at Shilla Hotel

Entrance into Shilla Hotel in Seoul, Korea. Sorry for the glare, but I took the picture from inside my car.

Hi, everyone!

I bet you thought that I had forgotten all about my weekly romp in Korea post, huh? Well, rest assured, I haven’t. 🙂 I’m just in the middle of finishing up the winter term–finals are next week–so I’ve been a bit busy trying to get all of the grading done.

Regardless, today is Friday, and I have the luxury of time to do some blogging, so off we go for another quick trip to Seoul, Korea!  Continue reading Romps in Korea: Dinner at Shilla Hotel

Romps in Korea: Breakfast at Paris Baguette

20131122_152504

I’m back again with the second installment of Korea 2013! 🙂

Today’s little romp centers around something that is near and dear to many of our hearts: pastries! 😉 As you can see from the picture, Korean bakeries do cake like none other! Too cute! I’d plunk down $15 (accounted for exchange rate) for the little reindeer cake in a heartbeat!  Continue reading Romps in Korea: Breakfast at Paris Baguette

Romps in Korea: from LAX to ICN

P1020080

Hi, everyone!

The long-awaited travel blogs from my recent trip to Korea (November 2013) are finally starting. *blows noisemaker*

Thank you for your patience as I dealt with the more immediate demands of Real Life–end of the term and then the holidays rearing their insistent heads. My plan is to take you through chunks of my trip–in chronological order–for the next couple of months. Yes, I believe it will take us that long to go through the various moments…at least the way I plan to blog about them. 🙂

So…let’s get started on the first leg of my trip!  Continue reading Romps in Korea: from LAX to ICN

Romps in Korea: Days 8 – 13

Third post~ It’s weird thinking that I only have four days left before heading back to the US. Kind of bitter sweet. I want to stay in Korea because there’s so much I want to do, but I also want to go back to the US to see friends. I guess I have next summer to play too, so I’ll have to put what I can on hold. 🙂

Also, I’m really thankful for the kind words all the Twinkles are leaving on my posts. I hope I’m able to convey Korea in the best way possible to all the readers. Thank you! ^^  Continue reading Romps in Korea: Days 8 – 13

Church Minion No. 4 here again. ^^ Thank you Twinkles for all the kind words~<3 I’ve been trying my best to get as many pictures of any and every fun thing I’m doing in Korea, so my posts will probably be filled with more pictures than words. I hope everyone will enjoy my future posts. ^^  Continue reading Romps in Korea: Days 5 – 7

Romps in Korea: Days 1 – 4

안녕하세요! Hello! I am Church Minion No. 4, and I, under the careful gaze of the lovely founder of this site, will be taking you Twinkles on a virtual tour through Korea. I won’t be staying in Korea for long this summer, but until I return to the States, I will be posting my odd misadventures through Seoul and surrounding areas. 🙂

Due to technological difficulties, my first post is going to contain around a week’s worth of food and fun. And by technological difficulties, I mean I decided to pull a derp and not check for a SD reader on the laptop. Instead I spent several days attempting to find a card reader to buy. But now that I’ve learned an important lesson in technology, be ready for a monster of a post! ^^  Continue reading Romps in Korea: Days 1 – 4
