A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episodes 13 and 14

HYI 13
Chae Won and Se Yoon sharing a sweet moment…despite that hideous coat Se Yoon is wearing. What on earth are they making you wear, Se Yoon?!!

I trust you all are ready for the “insane” marathon recaps of our current makjang Kdrama, right? 😉

In order to accomplish our Mission Impossible and hopefully finish around the same time as the series, Jules and I will be not only taking turns recapping, but we’ll also be handling a few of them at a time. So get ready for this unprecedented marathon recap, everyone! Here we go! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee~ Continue reading A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episodes 13 and 14

A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episode 12

Precious little actually happens in this episode – but does that ‘little’ advance the plot, you ask? No, not really. Does Chae Won get slapped? But of course. Does she cry? You betcha. Now that we have the important plot points sorted, it’s onward, readers, to episode 12!

A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episode 11

HYI 11.9

I knew it was too good to last. In the expected reversal of fortune, Chae Won’s streak of getting back at her mother-in-law turns rather abruptly as the witch once again demonstrates her mastery of anything cunning over the amateur Chae Won, attacking from two different fronts: Chae Won’s husband and her beloved father. Continue reading A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episode 11

A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episodes 9 – 10

HYI 9.4

The mounting frustration of “patiently” waiting for Chae Won to recover her memories while her wicked MIL (mother-in-law) hatches one scheme after another is finally over…or so we think. This episode is a welcome change of pace in light of all the trauma Chae Won–and vicariously we–have had to endure in the recent episodes. But no more! Let the payback begin! *bloodthirsty cry and fist pump* Continue reading A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episodes 9 – 10

A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episodes 6 – 8

Note: Due to time contraints, episodes 6 – 8 have been condensed into one recap.

Chae Won’s slow discovery of the truth is the driving force of these episodes and in addition to having her finally understand the painful reality of her married life, we also get to see her stick up for herself at last (well. sort of.).

There’s still a fair bit of crying of course (well, more than fair, if I’m honest), but in-between the angst, the show manages to sprinkle in a few moments of cuteness between our OTP, which tends to make up for a lot in my book. Even tears. Endless, endless tears…

A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episode 5

New game! How many images of Se Yoon and Chae Won in that same booth (but in different recaps) can we post in a row? Place your bets here, folks.

And in other, non-booth related news: Chae-won still has no memory; the witch still has no soul; and grandpa still has no apparent heir (or heir apparent?).

A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episode 3

100 Year's Inheritance 3.1

The theme of the wicked mother-in-law continues in full force, affecting every family in the series…or so it seems. Other than that tiresome plot device, I found the rest of the episode enjoyable, especially as we start the episode with Se Yoon and Chae Won and end with those two. As for the wicked mother-in-law, I’m really really going to enjoy the moment when she realizes that she has not only ruined her son’s life, but also her daughter’s life. You’ll see what I mean in just a moment. Enjoy!

A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episode 2

100 Year's Inheritance 2.19 (2013)

I’m going to try to stick with this series as much as I can, but I can’t guarantee anything since I’ve started school and my regular schedule as resumed. Having said that, though, I really am going to try to commit to this series since I adore Lee Jung Jin and Eugene and thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Here’s hoping!  Continue reading A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episode 2

A Hundred Year’s Inheritance: Episode 1

100 Year's Inheritance 1.5 (2013)

I finally got around to seeing this first episode, and I’m undecided as to whether I’m going to be committing myself to the entire series just yet. The reason? I can see the beginnings of some massive drama, and when I say massive, I mean drama with a capital “D.” How do I know? The classic Korean-mother-in-law-is-a-witch plot device is central to the first episode. You’ll see what I mean. Read on/watch the episode, and then let me know what you think.
