Bulletin Board: September 6, 2015

Happy first Sunday of September, Twinkles! 😉

For those of us living in the United States, we’ll be celebrating Labor Day tomorrow (Monday) and taking the day off to rest from our labors. Hmph! Unfortunately, my seminary professor doesn’t seem to want to encourage “resting” as he’s assigned the due date for my research paper for midnight tomorrow. *rolls eyes* And yes, you can bet that I plan to use every single last minute that I can to write that dratted paper. lol.

In any case, the majority of you probably have a full week ahead of you, so I’ll stop chit-chatting and get to the announcements. Let’s take a look…! 🙂

1. I still have plans to blog Episode 3 of All about My Mom, so keep an eye out for that. I’ve just had to reschedule it for this upcoming week due to the paper. 😛 On the positive side, I’ve been sneaking views of the short clips on YouTube and have decided that I’ll be sticking with the series. I discovered a trick to enjoying the show and keeping the annoyance factor to a minimum. 😀 So…if you found yourself unable to continue past episodes 1 and 2, have no fear, Twinkles! I shall bravely take one for the team and provide you with short summaries and musings of the episodes…just as soon as my research paper is completed. 😉 Turtle Power!!! *grins*

2. If you haven’t checked out Mrs. Cop, I think you may want to. It’s gaining an unexpected following in both Korea and overseas! If you’d like a peek at just two…OK, I can’t resist…three of the many awesome moments, take a look below. Seriously, the two young detectives are too adorable for words!

Videos: Compliments of DramaSBS on YouTube

The detectives discover a vital clue from all the messages: “You’ve seen me.”

A game of tit for tat as Min Do Young (Lee Da Hee) gives Han Jin Woo (Son Ho Jun) a taste of his own medicine and ignores his phone calls.

Jin Woo confronts Do Young for playing childish games, telling her that she’s lucky she was born a woman and not a man. >.< Of course, we know that he’s beginning to find her adorable. 🙂

3. If you’re hankering for a daily show, you may want to check out The Return of Hwang Geum Bok, also on SBS. It has all the trappings of your typical daily show. In one word, it’s total “makjang” with birth secrets, revenge schemes, etc. lol. Here’s a clip of the two dear lovebirds, Hwang Geum Bok (Shin Da Eun) and Kang Moon Hyuk (Jung Eun Woo):

They’re so cute together! 🙂

4. Some of you may have heard that Dasom (the maknae of SISTAR) is starring in her own K-drama. Well, you heard correctly! In truth, she’s quite charming in her role, and the series, The Virtual Bride, seems to be a solid show. But then again, it’s difficult to miss when you have veteran actors Ryu Soo Young, Ki Tae Young, and Go Doo Shim solidly anchoring the show. 🙂

Here’s a peek at the trailer, compliments of KBS World TV via YouTube:

The trailer honestly doesn’t do the series justice; it’s way better than the trailer. Whoever made that trailer should be taught how to piece together a decent trailer. *rolls eyes* In any case, I believe that DramaFever is subtitling the series here. You can also find the videos on the DramaFever channel on YouTube. Enjoy!

5. All Is Well is another daily series that just began this August 31, 2015…at least I think that’s the debut date. 🙂 Some of you may recognize some “familiar” faces. I’m predicting that Kwak Si Yang is going to become a “Big Star” soon at the rate he’s going. 🙂 I’m including the series in this week’s bulletin in case some of you are on the hunt for it. From the preview, it looks charming.

KBS World TV has plans to upload English-subtitled episodes on YouTube starting September 15, 2015.

6. The biggest news this week, though, was probably the release of the much-anticipated series, She Was Pretty, starring Hwang Jung Eum and Park Seo Joon. Oh, I should probably also mention that Choi Shi Won (of Super Junior) is also in the show, huh? 😉

It’s set to broadcast this September 16, 2015, on MBC followed shortly after with English-subtitles episodes by DramaFever which you can find here.

Here’s a look at the first script reading for those of you who are interested:

That’s all for this week’s bulletin announcements. I hope you found the announcements “useful” for your viewing plans. 😉

I’ll end our weekly “Bulletin Board” post with the usual pictures of our adorable eye candies. 🙂

Thumbs up for an awesome week ahead, right Twinkles? 🙂

Hopefully, we can all be as relaxed as Lee Jin Wook in this picture! 🙂

Have a glorious week, Twinkles~! *Fighting!*

  1. Grace, good luck writing your paper. I hope that you have a chance to get a break and do something enjoyable & fun.
I’mean watching Mrs Cop and I had a hard time getting pass the first 2 eps. The amount of incompetence by the cops was mind blowing, although it shouldn’t be surprising. It has gotten a lot better. I enjoy the team dynamics and seeing them work together to solve each case. Although I’may probably in the minority the main character is not what has me interested in the show. For me what has me interested wk to wk is the two young detectives. I like their scenes together.

    1. You, too? I adore those two young detectives! 🙂
Thank you for the good luck on my paper. As of just a few minutes ago, I finished the paper and uploaded it onto the class website for reading and grading. 😀 *happy sigh* Now, I just need to prepare for tomorrow’s lectures. lol.
Thanks for reading and commenting, raindrops1!

      1. Yep, the 2 detectives are part of the main reason I’mean enjoying the show. To see how they give each other a hard time but at the same time care for each other (although I’m not sure either would admit to the other yet) is fun to see. It’seems a developing, growing relationship where they learn from each other.
*high five* on finishing and uploading your paper. Great job & congrats!

  2. Hi Grace! Just thought I’d drop a line. Am watching the Eccentric Daughter In Law & it may yet be the best kdrama for me even if it does not have the best storyline, it’s cute & funny. Dasom & Ryu Soo Young are so cute together & has sizzling chemistry despite their age gap, love Episode 8, as the episode was bookended by “real” kissing scenes. Sorry for the spoiler.

Getting caught up with All About My Mom, am at Ep8. The reviews have been discouraging in the beginning but I guess a lot of people are starting to like it now. At first it seems like Goddess of Marriage meets A Hundred Year Legacy in the worst possible way with the horrible mother in law in both dramas (I hang in there to the very end coz I wanted the OTPs to have their happy ending). Story has been fairly decent so far tho some or most of the characters can be infuriating.

Twenty Again is also good, how can I not like Lee Sang-yoon with his dimples & all! 😉 Excited too for She Was Pretty, Siwon`s character seems a dorky one, just like him. hahaha Have you heard or checked out Baek Jin Hee`s My Daughter, Geum Sa-Wol. I like her a lot but can`t get past the first 15 minutes of Ep 1.

As always, there is so much to watch but not enough time to watch them all! BTW, how`s school coming along.

    1. Hey, Ellen! I’m hanging in there, but like you, I’m finding that there are way too many good dramas out there for me to watch and too little time. 😛
I need to seriously catch up on all these dramas. And I have to admit that I totally agree with your assessment on everything…except for My Daughter, Geum Sa Wol since I haven’t seen that yet. lol

Thanks for stopping by and filling me in on what you’ve been watching. 🙂 I hope all is well in your part of the world! Oh, and in case you’re wondering about your prize package, I still haven’t had a chance to pack and mail it. Yours is on my agenda for this week. 🙂

      1. Just read that My Daughter Geum Sa Wol is a makjang fest from the get go. Looks like Beak Jin Hee has not appeared in the first 2 episodes yet. Not sure if I really wanna watch this. Oh, I may check out Yoo Ah In in his new drama Six Flying Dragons. I like this boy, i think he’s one of the brilliant young actors. Don’t worry about the package. I can wait patiently! 🙂 Thanks in advance!!

        1. That’s what I was afraid of with that show. Ah well…the good news is that this will be one less K-drama fighting for my time. 🙂
