Bulletin Board: June 24 – June 30

Here is this week’s bulletin board for any announcements, requests, questions, etc. that you just want to post. As for my announcement, I’m trying to adjust to my crazy summer schedule…hence the sad lack of kdrama recaps. 🙁 The good news is that my July giveaways will be starting soon. Yes, you heard right! Giveaways in the plural. LOL

  1. Hi, everyone! I’m still taking a break from watching kdramas and enjoying Twinkie’s movie recommendations 🙂 the last one i watched was Daddy Long Legs, and i loved it! I didn’t expect to see such a gentle Vampire Prosecutor.

Mid-year holidays are over where i am, and my kids head back to school tomorrow. Sigh. Along with the craziness of school-time schedules, i guess my movie/ kdrama-watching time will be severely curtailed. Ah well.

Twinkie, what kind of crazy summer schedule do you have?

    1. During the summers, I work all 7 days (school and church), but this year is a bit different as I’m also heading a brand new program at my church for high school students preparing for their SAT (a college entrance exam in the United States). The irony is that I’ve been teaching SAT since 1995 as a senior in college and am now teaching students who were BORN in 1995. LOL

      1. oof, that’s a crazy schedule, all right! what would be good to pray for? i guess, stamina, and patience?

oh yes, that’s a real age wake-up call! my husband and i teach a bible study class and – exactly as you’ve experienced – we realised some of the students weren’t even born when we were in college. that’s when we accepted how ‘advanced’ we were 🙂 seasons of life!

  2. I dove right in with kdramas again. I’ve seen most of the movies TS recommends and I love them all (TS has great taste).

I really dislike summer because of how hot it is. I am a winter person, lol. I tend to stick to being inside with my laptop glued to my side during summertime.

TS, I enjoy your recaps. You put the information we need along with your humor that makes it awesome. Honestly, I can wait and be on board for your next project (if you decide to do more) =)

    1. Aw…thanks! Yes, I do plan to continue recapping but am just swamped right now with responsibilities. I shall be back as soon as I can. 🙂

  3. I have to recommend a very good drama that I recently watched. My first TDrama that was not a crime drama. Its called Autumn’s Concerto/Next Stop Happiness with Van Ness Wu. Can I say that I absolutely LOVED this drama! I started watching it on DramaFever but alas they are uploading only 2 episodes a week so for 3 weeks I’d been watching there. I’d reached a very pinnacle point of the drama and was just tired of waiting so I mentioned it to my drama tweeples and they suggested other sites to watch. Can I say I started watching episodes 7-21 on Thursday and finished Sunday? I couldn’t even tear myself away to watch my current dramas of Ghost, Gaksital or A Gentleman’s Dignity; it was that good! I’ve noticed in TDrama that the writers are very good at making the viewer feel extremely sorry for the male characters. Watching this and seeing what transpired later, I can truthfully say it was totally justified for his actions later (you have to see it, no spoilers). But let me also say that I thought I had been impressed with Korean drama child actors but they have been totally eclipsed by what was a 5 year actor named Xiao Xiao Bin! I’ve never seen a child deliver so many lines and some serious, poignant moments ever! You have to see it to believe it! Still gives me the chills when I think of some of his truly remarkable scenes. Snoopy, if you’ve seen it, please add it to your list of recommendations (unless you did not like it). It was a truly remarkable drama and well acted by all. It will become the second drama that I’ve ever purchased!

    1. Great suggestion! I caught a few scenes of it because so many people were raving about it a while back. I liked what I saw of it, but since I don’t handle angst very well (hence no Fashion King for me), I decided to watch something lighter at the time (Down with Love starring Jerry Yan and Ella Chen).
But yes, I just may take you up on your suggestion and watch it. 🙂 Thanks for the suggestion!

      1. I’ll have to look for Down with Love! Yes, there is angst in this but, but once you too fall in love with Xiao Le, the angst will be secondary and it also makes total sense why its there! Like I said, its a rare moment where I totally feel sorry for the male character like no other time!

      2. Down With Love was awesome. It took me a bit to get used to Ella’s quirkiness but I adore her now. Autumn’s Concerto is really good as well. Another one I loved was Drunken to Love You (Drunk to Love You?, not too sure on the title they settled on tbh).

  4. ST, NewKDramaAddict
Both were my favourite of TW’s drama.I cant remember how many time i watched AC as i liked the story line…. and the male lead. LOL. JC and Ella were cute too.

ST, just wondering. Have you watch Always/Only You, So Ji Sub and Han Hyo-Joo’s movie? Was it good? I tried to find it at YT but there was none… sigh..

    1. I saw Always and it was great. Unfortunately the YT upload got removed. It might be on Dramacrazy. I’ll check.

    2. I found it again on YT! Looks like it reappeared! If your search does not find it, search for my playlist kannita’s playlist, its public. All of Snoopy’s recommendations can be found on the public playlist.
