Bulletin Board: January 26 – February 1

Hi, Twinkles!

I hope you’re all doing well! I am back in Kdramaland…sort of. LOL.

Due to the chatter about My Love from Another Star, I started to catch up on the series and finally caught up to real time. I’m hoping that in the remaining 4 weeks, I’ll be able to keep up with the recaps and previews. 🙂 The recap to episode 12 is here if you’re interesting in what I had to say.

Having said this, though, I must confess that I’ve been remiss with my Labor of Love project. Perhaps I should just retitle it, “The Series Recaps That Never Start” or something to the like. Heh. Since this week heralds the start of February, a month known historically as the month of love, I’m going to try to recap episode 1 this week. After all, it seems only fitting that I start the series in February, right? Given my love of Lee Jang Woo, right? 😉

Hmmm…we’ll see how I do with my plan to finally start Road No. 1 recaps/reviews this week. 😉

On a silly note, I wanted to introduce you to Kakao Talk, an online application, if you’ve never heard of it. It’s something akin to Twitter except that you can use it also as a phone line. Until recently, I’ve only used it to text and talk with friends and family in Korea. In the past week or so, though, I’ve used it to chat with other Twinkles.

Why, you ask? After all, I’ve got Twitter…

Kakao Hi

She’s why. Can you all see how adorable this little free downloadable emoticon is? Kakao Talk has Twitter capabilities…and then some.

Needless to say, I’ve gotten so used to talking with emoticons that when I type anything on my computer now, I find myself searching for an appropriate emoticon to accompany the text…until I remember that I’m not on Kakao Talk.

Kakao Cry

See what I mean? The emoticons are just too adorable and absolutely irresistible. 😉

In any case, last week I blogged a bit about a place called Daiso. Some of you already know about this place and frequently haunt–and I mean that figuratively as well as literally ;)–this place due to all its lovely items.

Well, I unexpected found myself in Los Angeles yesterday with four hours to spare, so rather than twiddle my thumbs and idle away the hours, I took a quick shopping spree to Chung’s Appliance, Daiso, and Han Nam Chain…you know…just to see what new things had been stocked on the shelves as well as to pick up a few necessary items.

Let’s just say that I had a blast! 😉

Daiso 01-25-14

I don’t know if you can see everything, but I basically did some early birthday shopping for my little niece who was born in the year of the rabbit. Two-thirds of the picture (right) is for her and her little brother while the one-third (left) is my stuff. Twenty-four items for about $38 isn’t too bad, right?

Anyhow, I thought some of you might like to see and read what I’ve been up to…besides the serious aspects of Real Life. 🙂

  1. OH, Daiso, I’ve been to one in Vancouver, which is like 12 hours drive from where I live. I love that store, too. Too many cute stuff. Great job on your shopping spree! ^ ^ Have a Blessed Sunday!
